The site has been a residence of the Bishops of London since AD 704, when Bishop Waldhere acquired the Manor of Fulham — a vast estate covering most of Hammersmith, Fulham, Acton, Ealing and Finchley. As bishops were called ‘Princes of the Church’ the estate became known as Fulham Palace. Jocelyn Towns

Buckinghamshire Councillor for Flackwell Heath, Little Marlow & Marlow South East

Jocelyn and her two daughters moved to Marlow 15 years ago from North London.  She took on the role of Coordinator of the Marlow Health check in 2006, a process set up by the South East Development Agency to understand the future needs and wants of a market town.  A Vision Statement was presented and approved at a public meeting from which an Action Plan for Marlow was written.  Jocelyn also has a keen local commitment and was Secretary to the Chamber of Trade and Commerce for two years.
