Alex Collingwood

Alex has lived in Marlow with his family for over 45 years. He is married to Emma, and both their children went to Great Marlow School. He believes in serving the local community. Eight years as a Town Councillor and for the last 22 years as District Councillor. Leader of the District Council from 2011-13, he froze District Council tax for all residents (and this year); introduced glass recycling directly from homes; & the new Sports Centre at Handy Cross. Recently working with local residents to stop Green Belt being developed at Seymour Plain/Oak Tree Road. Currently Chairman of the Budget Task & Finish group.

He is a committee member of The Marlow Museum Trust and as your WDC respresentative, Alex attends meetings of the Chamber of Trade and Marlow International Regatta.  As your Councillor he introduced green re-cycling, the Skate Park, new play area & cafe in Higginson Park; & delivered new pedestrian crossings in West Street, Dean Street and Wycombe Road as well as cycle paths in the town.

Used his ward budget towards:

  • Marlow Community Association - for Liston Hall improvements
  • Marlow Sports Club - new hockey pitch
  • Marlow Youth Centre - new kitchen & climbing wall
  • This year working to install a new mobile defibrillator.

His hobbies include golf, walking, travel & is a member of the National Trust.
