Joy with police officer

We now have a new record number of 5,034 Police Officers across our area having recruited an additional 500 officers since 2010.

Crime rates locally reflect the record investment put into policing. Neighbourhood crime is down 17%, Burglary down 1/3, Robbery down 1/4 and outcomes for rape and sexual offences up 23% on last year.  Nationally, our Conservative government has recruited 20,000 police officers, fulfilling our 2019 manifesto commitment and investing a record £17.2bln into policing in 2023/24.
