District Councillor for Stoke Poges Duncan Smith has lived in Bucks for 25 years and in Stoke Poges since 2000. He has been self-employed or a director of small Companies since his University days. He strongly believes that local businesses are the backbone of a vibrant local economy. He also believes that Government bodies, like the local council, should be small, lean and efficient.
He joined the Conservatives two years ago after David Cameron’s call for new people to become involved. He hopes that others will volunteer for their local community. He believes in being a good neighbour and is generous with his time to all who ask.
As a keen tennis player and sports fan, he will help to improve local sports facilities and improve public health by ensuring that South Bucks remains a pleasant environment for outdoor activities.
