Buckinghamshire Council Candidate - Flackwell Heath, Little Marlow & Marlow South East
Jocelyn and her two daughters moved to Marlow 15 years ago from North London. She took on the role of Coordinator of the Marlow Health check in 2006, a process set up by the South East Development Agency to understand the future needs and wants of a market town. A Vision Statement was presented and approved at a public meeting from which an Action Plan for Marlow was written. Jocelyn also has a keen local commitment and was Secretary to the Chamber of Trade and Commerce for two years.
Kathy has lived in and around Marlow for 25 years. She ran her business from the High Street and then from Court Garden House in Higginson Park for a further 12 years. Passionate about Marlow, she remembers when The Marlow Bar and Grill was a tea shop called Thistles some 20 years ago! She lives with her two children in Station Rise and works as a Management Consultant helping companies improve their business performance.
My career has encompassed banking, sales, insurance and fundraising, and the fact that I have dealt with people from all walks of life I feel would help me with the challenges I face as a councillor. I moved from Harrow to Buckinghamshire 12 years ago and into Beaconsfield 8 years ago. I am married with 2 sons who have spent their formidable years in Beaconsfield having both been through the excellent Grammar School system of Education that Buckinghamshire provides.
I will make a difference and be involved in shaping the future of the local community & want to represent the views of local people and ensure that community interests are taken into account. One of my main concerns is to improve services for the Elderly members of our community. I am an active volunteer for ‘Save the Children’ , ‘The Sadhu Vaswani Group - Feeding the Homeless’ and most recently worked within Buckinghamshire and volunteered for my Bank collecting food donations from around the county for the victims of the Nepal Earthquake which I then delivered to Stevenage, Hertfordshire.
I’ve lived in Beaconsfield Central Ward for 28 years. My wife and I have been married for 47 years. Our two children attended local schools. I work as a computer consultant. In my spare time I enjoy running and reading. Like many residents, I’ve become increasingly concerned about traffic, congestion, parking and local services. The re-development of Wilton Park and the many new dwellings it will bring will mean fresh challenges for Beaconsfield. There will be added demands on local services like GP’s, schools, roads. Beaconsfield is a good place to live & I’ll work to keep it that way.
I and my wife Rosemary have lived in Beaconsfield for 40+ years. Our four daughters went to St Mary’s School, and to the High School, and we have also fostered several young people who needed help. In 2007 I was elected Chairman of the Beaconsfield Society, and subsequently I chaired the committee which included BOTRA and the Neighbourhood Action Group when we assessed the concerns of more than 60 diverse local organisations in writing the Parish Appraisal .
Tim, is a true fourth generation Marlovian, born in the town and resided within the limits for his forty eight years. He is married with two children, who attend local schools.
For the last ten years Tim, with his business partner, has owned and managed a Marlow based company. As a local business man he has been a member of The Marlow Chamber Trade and Commerce for the last twelve months. On numerous previous occasions, he has been a volunteer steward for various local events.
As a Marlow resident, parent and business man Tim has a great insight into the matters facing the population and is committed to ensuring the town moves forward the way that the residents desire.
