District Councillors

Philip Bastiman

I enjoy living in Beaconsfield, we share a beautiful town with a great heritage and quality of life. I am standing for the town council to help to preserve our environment and make Beaconsfield an even better place to live. I have a track record as a councillor in Wandsworth where I was responsible for introducing doorstep recycling, providing outstanding Social Services for vulnerable local people and delivering excellent value for money.

John Read

I believe Beaconsfield Old Town has a character and a charm that is worth preserving, whilst meeting the needs of the community and business.

I have lived in Beaconsfield for nearly twenty years. For the last eight years I have run my web consultancy firm from the Old Town and worked with a number of local businesses during that time. Although I have seen the town change, it has remained a pleasant place to live and work. I will strive to serve the town to the best of my ability whilst keeping an open and informed mind on all matters.

As an architect l am concerned about our environment and the enhancement of the Town, whilst recognising that we face unprecedented pressures for the future in meeting housing and infrastructure needs. As well as having chaired the Hampden Hill Society, a residents' group, which seeks to preserve that Conservation Area and public open space, I spent seven years on the Conservation Areas Advisory Committee to the London Borough of Harrow.  As well as chairing the Town Planning Committee, I am chairing the management committee of the Holtspur Local Nature Reserve, and am a member of the Community Safety Committee. At District I am a member of Resources, Audit and Licensing. Early retired from practice and commerce I am working for and with the community with the aim of achieving the best outcomes".
