Denham, Fulmer and Gerrards Cross East Ward Conservatives name their candidates

The Denham Ward Conservatives (which includes Denham, Fulmer and Gerrards Cross East) have selected Paul Bass, Santokh Chhokar and Guy Hollis as their candidates for the first Buckinghamshire Council elections in May 2020.

Paul Bass has lived in Denham since 2013 with his wife Seema and their two young children. Seema is a local GP serving Denham and Iver.  Paul had a long career in the Royal Navy reaching the rank of Commander having seen operational action around the world. Paul now holds a senior executive role in a major British engineering company.

Santokh Chhokar is married with three children and has lived in Gerrards Cross East for the past 18 years. He is the Senior Partner in a medium-sized solicitors’ practice

Santokh was elected to South Bucks District Council (SBDC) to represent Denham South West & Gerrards Cross East Ward in 2007. During this period he regularly interacted with and attended Meetings of both Gerrards Cross Parish Council and Denham Parish Council. From 2011, due to reorganisation, Denham South West was linked with Denham and he became one of three District Councillors representing Gerrards Cross.

On SBDC Santokh has served as Vice Chairman of the Planning Committee (2 years) and Chairman (2 years) of the Council. Within BCCA Santokh has served as Vice Chairman (2 years) and Chairman (2 years) of the Association.

Guy Hollis has lived locally since 1969, practised mostly NHS dentistry ( General practice, plus General Anaesthetic /sedation and Special Needs) for 32 years during which time he served on  the Local and London federal Dental Committees which negotiated and advised NHS on strategic and local management of our service.

Elected as a District and Parish Councillor some 14 years ago and has served on Audit, Finance, Health and Housing, Overview and Scrutiny and joint reference group on planning committees and policy advisory groups and chaired several of these in the process. Currently serving as vice chairman of the Audit Committee for the District Council, and as a member of the Overview and Scrutiny Committee for the Shadow Unitary Council.


We shall work to make sure that local government works for local residents. To do this we shall work with Denham Parish Council, Fulmer Parish Council and GX Town Council and all local residents to ensure, within all our means, Buckinghamshire Council delivers efficient local and countywide cost effective services.

We shall vigorously defend the Green Belt and work to ensure that developments such as the Local Plan fully take into account the interests and concerns of local residents
